Outdoor Chat > One or Two Lines? You Decide!

Okay, so a bill is wandering its way around the Minnesota State Capitol that would allow Minnesota anglers to use two lines during summer months. The Bill's author, State Rep. Al Juhnke, also mentioned that the state might offer an additional $10 license if you want tje rogjt tp fish two lines. Hmmmm. Is there a reason for this bill? Is it simply a money-maker for the state? Hmmmmm. I'm not sold. Is our fishing system broken? I sure don't think so. Is there a real reason we need to dunk two lines a person? If you're trolling, I could see that. Jiggin' for walleyes? No need. Shore fishing? Just imagine two lines in the river and two big carp on at the same time. I've heard some folks say, "It would be great to cast from the boat and have a second line just dragging a bobber and minnow. I wonder what the motivations are for folks who think two lines are the only way to go. I picture a bass guy up on the bow of the boat, a fishing pole in each hand, skippin' plastics under the docks like a double gun-slinger. I fish for the experience, not the sheer number of opportunites I *might* have to hook more fish if I have more lines in the water. How about your two cents ( or is that two lines)?

Bill, I would agree with you for the most part. The only exception I feel to this would be pan fishing. There are plenty of times when two lines would be nicec when fishing for Blue gills and perch.
